Julia and Eleanor met in Winston Salem, NC while studying tap, jazz and ballet at the Academy of Dance Arts. They attended North Carolina School of the Arts together, studying Contemporary Dance. After college, a continued friendship brought the two back together in the Pilates and dance community in NYC where they find that they still have similar and complimentary ideas about the body, how to move it and how to keep it in healthy working order. Julia and Eleanor continue to investigate new movement modalities and keep an open dialogue with current ideas about holistic health and well being. The Swan was created to foster a high level of detailed, specific, specialized movement experiences in a calm and peaceful environment.
