Jay Hart the founding Pilates Doctor, began working in the Pilates equipment field over 18 years ago in Colorado, where he spent five years working for one of the top equipment manufacturers. His family has been in Pilates equipment manufacturing since 1995, and during the early years his duties ranged from cutting and sanding raw wood to upholstery to final assembly and crating. At some point in time, he had his hands on every aspect of production. After moving to Los Angeles in 2000, Jay did warranty work and installations while pursuing his career as a musician. While in California he repaired, modified, installed and moved all types of Pilates and Gyrotonic equipment through word of mouth. It was on this path that Jay also received a teachers certification and fell in love with the work.
