The Pilates Archer
he Body Archer is an attractive and revolutionary product designed to produce increased flexibility of the entire body, using gravity, your own body weight, and a gentle rocking motion. The Body Archer allows muscles to relax and slowly stretch, while completely supporting your body in an arched position in comfort and safety. It’s called PASSIVE STRETCHING. You cannot fully stretch a muscle if you’re using it.
There are three primary arching positions: the full backward arch (lying on your back), side arches (lying on both your left and right side) and the full forward arch (lying on your stomach). The curved upholstered surface of the Body Archer and its elliptical base provide the perfect shape and rocking motion for perfect stretching. The three basic stretches, shown below, are all accomplished with the muscles in a completely relaxed state.
While in any of the 3 primary Arching positions, gravity is pulling your body in two directions at the same time, causing gentle, effortless stretching and release of muscle tightness, creating a noticeable heightened sense of well-being in just minutes. Studies show that slow, static stretching reduces risk of injury, improves muscular balance and posture, and increases circulation and nutrients to tissues and joint structures.
Whether you are a professional athlete, active mom, or sedentary office worker, stretching the muscles is a necessity for your body’s health. Animals seem to do it automatically!
By simply lying on The Body Archer, the back assumes a natural arched and stretched position with no exertion at all. It is designed to increase flexibility of the entire body by using gravity, your own body weight, and a gentle rocking motion. And, with the rocking capability of The Body Archer, you control each stretch’s intensity and your own stretching “sweet spot.”
